ANNOUNCEMENTS

JUNE 2, 2005

Okay, so some of you are understandably confused and/or distaught (hopefully not the latter) about one question - what happened to the news section? Well, as you can see the forum is back up, so I intend to make full use of it. All announcements will now appear in the forum under "Recent News Updates." You can also receive updates via e-mail from our Yahoo Group, BeyondSailorMoon. I hope this new system makes things easier for everyone.

So, go check out the updates! We have a new contest and several new senshi who have just arrived at our castle. ^_^ The contest rules can also be found here.

Thanks for your patience during our move. Keep the otaku senshi coming!

MARCH 8, 2005

Okay, I promise I have been updating the site the past few months, I've just been incredibly lazy about the announcements page. ^_^;;

You've probably noticed our splash page is down. This is only for a short time while we get everything sorted out with the hosting service. The forum is still on haitus. Trust, I am going to be a pain in the neck until our hosting service gets its act together and fixes the problem. Until then, please have patience. Thank you!

DECEMBER 21, 2004

Another large update. The following senshi have all been given rooms in the castle:

In the Terrarium: Sailor Earth by Klaia

In the Knights Table:
Prince Polaris by Ashley
Vega Knight by Ashley

In the Nursery:
Sailor Ice (Neo Mercury) by Ashley
Neo Sailor Mars by Sailor Star
Sailor Silver Fighter by Ashley
Sailor Silver Moon by Ashley
Sailor Polaris by Ashley
Sailor Crystal Uranus by Onyx_Worrystone

In the Main Hall:
Sailor Mythos by Sarah
Sailor Veta by Sarah
Sailor Universe by Rogue Senshi
Sailor Comet by KC Whitestar (Who earned featured status from the fanart contest)
Sailor Red Azure by Jam-Jam
Sailor Galaxy by Lee3
Sailor Spring by Sailor Star
Sailor Summer by Sailor Star
Sailor Autumn by Sailor Star
Sailor Winter by Sailor Star

In the Solarium:
Sailor Solar Flare by Ashley
Sailor Solar Lock by Ashley
Sailor Solar Glow by Ashley

Neo Sailor Pluto and Neo Sailor Neptune were received but not added, due to some errors with the profiles. If you are the creator, please contact me.

Also, I wanted to apologize for the advent calender being off for a couple of the days. Things have been very busy for me lately, so I can't always be as on top of things as I'd like to.

NOVEMBER 25, 2004

Finally got caught up on the senshi who had been submitted the past couple weeks. A welcome to Sailor Angel, Sailor Nebula, Sailor Tempest, Sailor Andromeda, and Sailor Mist in the Main Hall. Also Sailor Sapphire Star in the Planetarium, and Sailor Mini Pluto and the Neo Planet Keepers in the Nursery. If you've submitted recently, and your senshi's not here, that means I did not receive the complete profile and you will have to submit again. I did receive a character by Nicholas, but only the picture came through.

Also, just some review of netiquette when using the submission form:

1. Whatever you put into the form will be posted for anyone surfing the Internet to see. Therefore, I strongly urge against using your real name or any other personal info. As a general rule, I will trim last names if I feel the person used a real name, but I cannot always tell. I am not responsible if someone picks up information about you from this site that you did not want them to see.

2. Profiles may take a few minutes to load, particularly if you entered a picture with your profile. Please don't hit "Submit" over and over again. One of the reasons this update took so long was because I had to sort through a bunch of half-submitted profiles.

3. Don't make up pretend websites or type the text "I don't have one" into the website box. If you don't have one, leave it blank. Otherwise, there's just a broken link on your profile and I have to go in and delete it.

Please be considerate of the webmistress and follows these rules. It takes a long time to keep things running, and having to sort through errors like this only makes it worse. Thank you, and enjoy the new senshi!

NOVEMBER 3, 2004

The winners for the 2004 art contest are in! You can go to the fanart section to see all entrants and to our new online store to purchase the long-awaited Castle of Invented Senshi calender. Please note that Shihaisha also contributed art to the calender, but was mistakenly left of the front cover. This will be corrected by November 5th. All calenders purcahsed before November 16th are not only $1 off, but also contribute $2 to the site per calender purcahsed rather than $1. Thanks everyone for your support! Also, due to the time it's taken to get the calender ready, I am somewhat behind on uploading new entrants to the castle. Please be patient. Thank you.

OCTOBER 10, 2004

The new submission form is ready and running. We also added some info on submitting fanfics to Beyond Sailor Moon. See fanfiction section for details.

SEPTEMBER 23, 2004

Important: There have been some changes to the rules of the fanart contest. Please see the Announcements page for updates. Also, we are currently working on a new submission form; it should be up in the next couple days.

AUGUST 14, 2004 (Updated September 23)

FanArt Contest

To celebrate our re-opening, Castle of Invented Senshi is having an art contest. The winners will have their picture featured on our upcoming 2005 calendar (not to mention get their character a little extra attention on the site.) Want to enter? Make sure you read the rules below fully and carefully.

1. Your picture's background should be one solid color. While pictures with backgrounds are still allowed, it is preferable that you remove or edit the background out.

2. Your character must be dressed in something other than senshi fuku. Princess attire, casual wear, and just about any other outfit that doesn't make the pic offensive is permissible.

3. No ecchi, no hentai. (This just goes for any and all art contests on this site.)

4. You may do someone else's character but I have to receive a separate e-mail from that character's creator saying it is okay for you to enter the picture of their character in this contest.

5. If your character does not have a profile in the castle, please send along some basic info about the character. (Name, background story, personality, ect.) This info will be included with your picture on the calender page. Nothing huge, a few sentences will do.

6. There are two categories to enter:

Full color: As the name implies, this is a picture that has been colored.
Outline: This is a black and white drawing that consists of the outline of the character only. (Like a coloring book page.)
These two categories will be judged seperately. You may submit to both categories, but please do not enter the same picture twice.

DEADLINE: October 15th, 2004
Extensions will only be granted if the artist contacts me ahead of time and has a valid reason for needing the extension.

Prizes:
There will be a first place winner for both the outline and full color categories. Each of these winners will receive a VHS copy of Sailor Stars episodes 167-172, fansubbed. (The section of the series in which Nehelania returns to take revenge on the Sailor Senshi.)

Up to twelve winners will be chosen to appear on the 2005 calendar for "Castle of Invented Senshi." (to be released in late October.) This calendar will be available for purchase by visitors to the site via our new CafePress store. Additional winners may be selected to appear on T-shirts or other products. Any profit from sales goes to support "originalcharacters.com"

In addition to appearing on the calendar, all winners will receive an award image and their character granted featured status on the webpage.

One person may enter as many times as he/she likes. The same artist cannot win both the colored art and b&w art award, but multiple pictures by the same person may still be selected to appear in the store.

Artists take note:
By submitting to this contest, you are granting originalcharacters.com one time use rights of your picture. This means that while we do not own your picture or the character in it, you are permitting us to use it on CafePress products without further compensation to you. We cannot use the picture for anything else or claim it as our own, nor can we use any other artwork of yours (even if it's a colored version of an outline you sent in) without your explicit permission. Even so, if you are uncomfortable with this, please do not enter the contest.

All winning artists will have their name and e-mail address/website placed on the image with their character to ensure that they are credited for their work and anyone who wants to see more of their work can view it for themselves. Artwork may be edited (ie color/background/text/special effects) to make all the pictures look consistent.

Artists who feel they must put their name and contact info on their picture prior to submitting, please make your info interfere with the actual picture as little as possible. This is not necessary and I would prefer to add the info myself to make the calendar pages all look consistent, but I can also understand artists who want to do it anyway.

Please send your entries in as high a resolution as possible to: artcontest@katrinasforest.com. I can accept:
Bitmaps
JPG
GIF
PNG
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Illustrator
Any of the above formats in a WinZip file.

If your picture was created using Adobe Illustrator, please send the original Illustrator file rather than converting it to any other format. The higher-quality image you can send me, the better. If your picture is hand-drawn, please rescan it at the highest resolution you can. (Unless it's already 200 DPI or more.) It may look huge to you, but when the images are printed, low-resolution can really ruin a good picture. If you do not have a scanner, please contact me and we'll see about arranging to snail mail your entry instead. (All entries mailed in will be returned.)

Thank you.
I look forward to seeing your work.

AUGUST 5, 2004

The castle is re-open, and we now have our own domain name. Right now Katrina (anime at katrinasforest dot com) is the main webmistress, but Fate can still be contacted, and of course, Azura remains our wonderful site creator.

A few things which are different:

  • I have gone through ALL pages and removed any broken links. If your link is gone, it is because I could not find it despite searching or was met with a "site shut down" page.
  • All characters now have icons next to their name, indicating if the profile has a webpage, fanfiction, or fanart. There is also a featured icon, which is currently only on characters created by the webmistresses, but will hopefully become availible to other characters as well.
  • We have two new rooms, one for knights and one for young senshi. Please check them out. ^_^
  • Some profiles were edited for grammar. I also removed "Story to be posted soon" messages, because I don't expect the stories will ever be posted. I will be happy to add stories onto profiles later if the creator contacts me. One story was also removed from the FWWW page, as it no longer fit the requirements to be posted.
  • Backgrounds have been removed. Gomen to anybody who made a background for their character, but it really does make the site look so much better to have all backgrounds the same. When I could, I converted backgrounds to title images just so the pics weren't totally lost.
  • The Angelfire version of this site will continue to remain on http://www.angelfire.com/nb/sailornyx/foyer.html if you are looking for something you cannot find here.
  • Finally, our online submission form is back up and running. Click on Submissions on the menu to get there.
  • Thank you and I look forward to a wonderful time working as webmistress of this site. -Katrina

    FEBRUARY 29, 2004

Well the castle is now closed again. Why? you might ask. Well it is mainly because the server I used for automating the submissions for the castle has pretty much collapsed in on itself and I simply don't have the time to restore everything AND keep the site updated. If you wish to volunteer as the webmaster for the castle email me at fate135@hotmail.com or Azura at queenazura@hotmail.com You have to have knowlege of HTML in order to apply and it is preferable that you have a webpage I can look at to see you HTML skills. It is also preferable that you do not use Microsoft Frontpage. Thank to all who have submitted and I apologize if your Senshi submission didn't go through.

    FEBRUARY 4, 2004

Just to let everyone know I won't be updating the submissions for next week untill the following monday February 16 at the earliest because i will be at Katsucon 10 over the weekend(Feb 13-15). If you're there look for me in the artist's alley, i'll be selling some of my prints.

    JANUARY 12, 2004

Well the castle is once again being reopened and is now being maintained by Fate(Anna). The submissions are now done semi-automatically through a form and so i hope to be able to get submissions up fairly quickly. Those who did not see their senshi go up before the castle closed can resubmit using the form, this will both make the submission quicker and make my life easier. I am still working on bringing about a new layout as well as improve the automtaic form submission so bear with me.

    JANUARY 5, 2004

It's been a good run, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to step down as the organizer of this site. I've got too much else on my plate. The good news is that Anna has come forward and offered to continue maintaining the Castle. From now on, she'll be doing pretty much everything. A thousand thanks to her!!
